Delio - the adoption family put him in the municipal kennel to have him killed !!!!

Last Friday the adoption family of Delio called us to say they put the dog in the municipal kennel to have him killed, because allegedly the dog destroyed their garden... At the same time we were called by the municipal kennel because they read the information on the chip of the dog (as the owner did not present the required chip registration papers), found out that the dog was registered on the name of Bianca Association and called us. The next morning early we were there to take him back.

This dog was adopted at the age of 2 months, on the 2nd of May 2009 and almost 8/9 months later we realize what kind of adoption family they were. Look at the state of the dog. The owner didn't spend even one penny to treat the skin problem.
In the meantime the vet diagnosed sarna (mange), a skin parasite that is easily treatable.

The ex-owner said moreover that he was giving one pill of tranquilisers a day to calm the dog down. WHY???? He is a sweet and scared puppy. We guess that this man is sick, not the dog.

That beast said yet the dog began to bite at the age of 5 months!! What a crazy brain! The dog is calm, scared and sweet, he does not seem to be biting anyone!

We going to get in touch with a lawyer and sue the ex-owner. According to the adoption contract the dogs are suppsoed to be well treated, provided with vet treatment and given back to us if anything happened, not euthanised without our permission.

This is how how he looked when he was adopted:

Ghandi was operated! (died....)

Ghandi - also known on the streets of Sesimbra as Castanho - was submitted to a prostate surgery yesterday. For now this problem is solved and we hope he will recover quickly. He had difficulties to walk but now we hope he will be able to do with more ease even if he still suffers from arthrosis. He is an old dog....

Soraya, the sweetest dog in the world!

World, see the danger of a Pitbull...

Bamby with a new look! (adopted)

Bamby has a new look, he was shaved and he didn't complaint a bit! Such a sweet and loving dog.

Ideas for Valentine's Day?

Valentine's Day is a day when we make a once gesture towards someone we love. Our animals in the shelter do not have anyone who loves them in that way, noone for whom they would be the only one, the special one. Make a gesture on Valentine's Day: foster one of our animals!

More news from our animals...

Margarida is still at the vet... her surgery was very complicated but she is recovering, slowly but she is. Margarida is a very sweet and grateful dog and she has the will to survive. We just hope that Margarida's lucky day will come, she will recover and find a new home!!

Ghandi is at the vet too.... He has some serious physical problems, he is having a hard time to walk, he has liver and prostate problems... But we are trying our best and we rre very hopeful about this recovery.

Bartolomeu had been bitten, he went to the vet, his bite wound was sown and now he is still at the vet, because his wound requires special care.

News from Flor (Adopted!)

Flor was also submited to a surgery and now she is recovering, and very well, we may say. Soon she will need a home. Do not forget about this sweet cat!

Puga (adopted)

Puga was abandoned with sarna (skin parasite, mange) and needs be treated soon. But he will be fine. In the meantime we can say that this little boy is small and scared and is probably wondering what is going on around him....

Cruel his ex-owners. How can you abandon a small and gentle animal like this.

Amelia

Amelia appeared on the street of Quinta do Conde very pregnant. We took over one and half hour to catch her because she was very scared of people but we finally managed, thanks to Filipa, Sónia, Ana and Fernanda and we brought this sweet girl to the vet to ahve her sterilised. Even scared as she was, she didn't try to bite us and now surely a good home is waiting for her, because she really deserves it.

Bamby, the sweetest little boy! (adopted)

When we saw Bamby, we were speechless... The hair was at least 15cm long. Unbeliveble, he couldn't not see anything. He could hardly move. First thing we did, we cut the fringe. At least now he can see. More to come later. He was so afraid, the little boy, every noise made him shake... This sweet boy needs a calm and quiet home and all the love in the world.

Manchinha - a little cat (Adopted!)

This lovely and sweet cat was caught today on the street: he is VERY thin but still he is a beautiful cat.
Manchinha ("little spot" in Portuguese) is very sweet and gentle, so we are going to take good care of him and try to find him a nice home for him.

Fozzy (Adopted!)

Fozzy was submited to an eye surgery on his right eye, it went well and now he is back at Bianca's. Now he really needs a chance to live in a cozy enviroment and to be loved and take care of.

Kelly, a sweet girl (Adopted!)

Kelly was abandoned in Quinta do Conde. She is a young girl, sweet, calm, friendly, but she must have had sufferd very much. She has fungus infection of the skin and is in great suffering.... we can see in her eyes, in her movements, in the way she tell us she is in pain....and in the wounds

If her ex-owners one day see this message, we want to tell them:
"This Planet would be more ecological if beast like you did not live here"
